IPC India is part of IPC, the Global not for profit Association established in 1957 at USA representing all facets of the electronics manufacturing industry as members from 70 countries. IPC through its global offices, including India supports international cooperation and programs to meet the needs of an estimated $2.0 trillion global electronics industry.
IPC is incorporated in India during 2010 as Indian organization and has become the leading source for industry standards, certification, skill training, global market report and provides networking platform for Indian & global members.
Mr. David Bergman, Vice President, IPC was instrumental in opening India office in 2010. Mr. Akshinthala Vijayendra served IPC India for a decade as Managing Director and took IPC India to a newer height. During his tenure IPC “skill challenge” became very popular among members. During COVID situation he launched ‘Instructor Led Virtual Training” which helped member staffs to get certified without visiting IPC office. Currently IPC India is headed by Gaurab Majumdar and supported by dedicated team of 20+.
IPC India is headquartered at Bengaluru, State of Karnataka and biggest hub of electronics Manufacturing in India. IPC India office at Bengaluru also houses the IPC India “Skill Center”. Apart from Bengaluru, IPC India has office in New Delhi and presence in Chennai (State of Tamil Nadu) and Pune (State of Maharashtra). IPC India also serves Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, countries in Middle East and will be working for Africa.
IPC India has helped 8000+ certifications and courses are delivered through highly skilled Industry professionals and IPC certified trainers. IPC India has 10+ voluntary Instructors. IPC India regularly conducts training at Bengaluru skill center and also organizes live training at New Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. Member inhouse customized trainings at various locations including international are very popular.
IPC India helps SMEs, large & government organizations to achieve high-quality end product in the manufacturing process, maintain a competitive position and builds capability in export market & supply chain. Members in India include printed board manufacturers, electronics assembly & test, cable & wire harness assemblies, EMS companies, suppliers of equipment materials, design/processes/service units, OEMs, Government organizations & Institutions. The members serve various vertical industries like defense, automotive, healthcare, aerospace, telecom, ICT, power, railways and broadcasting.
IPC India Training & Certification Course Details
IPC India offers various Training & Certification Programs to electronic companies from India as well as neighboring countries. These courses are offered
i) at IPC India Training Center, Bengaluru, ii) as In-house course at the specific Customers site and iii) as Open Course for multiple customers at a pre-identified location.
“It has always been difficult for inspectors to identify anomalies with bare printed circuit boards especially those who are unfamiliar with the bare board manufacturing process. The worst thing a company can do is accept defective product because of ignorance, and then place valuable components on a defective board only for it to fail in the end. Through IPC-A-600 certification, our employees have a clear understanding of the criteria, so they can make the correct accept and reject decisions They also know the correct technical language for communicating their findings to each other and to their superiors, vendors or customers. Knowledge is very powerful – both for the individual and for the company’s bottom line.”
“Having credentials that support our staff’s ability to accurately assess whether fabs are acceptable or not is helpful for audit purpose, but certification has many other benefits. Through IPC-A-600 certification, we can ensure that people throughout key support areas material up front. This leads to several opportunities for cost saving: It reduces the need for engineering support on acceptable product; allows us to focus on improving timelines for material requiring rework; and, because the material is moving in a timelier manner, lets us address financial recovery in vendor-fault situations before the defective material is out of warranty. In addition, it helps decrease WIP cycle times by allowing prompt and accurate assessments.”
IPC is like a bridge that connects international business in the electronics industry over the world. By learning and adopting IPC standards, we can have a lot in common with foreign customers and find solutions together for soldering and rework process where high reliability is required.
Mr. Masato Nakamura
International Sales Section, Micro Soldering, level 3, Hakko Corporation, Japan.
BEL has been associated with IPC for more than 3 decades. IPC Standards are extensively used by us in our product design and manufacturing processes. It acts as a backbone to any electronic industry. Its standards related to components packages, Printed Circuit Boards design, raw materials including consumables, assembly process and acceptance quality are valuable reference material to us.
Mr. N Rama Kumar
Asst. General Manager, Bharat Electronics Limited, Bengaluru.
We are using IPC standards and training for many years. These are extremely useful and informative for PCB design, Assembly and Wiring Harnessing. Your team members are very knowledgeable and are easily approachable. They keep us updated with respect to new developments that are taking place in the Electronic Industry.
Mr. B K Dharmaraju
Sr. Deputy General Manager, BHEL, Bengaluru.
My association with IPC India is 10 years long when I had been first certified as CIS (IPC610) for my organization and learned the standard way of evaluating the electronic assemblies. Later on, I have been certified as CIT for IPC610 standards three times since 2012 for IPC 610 Standards. I have also been privileged for being nominated as main judge for ‘IPC India Hand Soldering Competition’ at Pragati Maidan, Delhi.
