Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo 2022 was organized by WHMA/IPC & the Wisconsin Center District at Milwaukee, USA during May 12-13. The expo is the industry’s exclusive trade show for the electrical wire harness, wire & cable processing, attracting nearly 200 exhibitors and 3,000+ attendees from 25 countries. IPC Standards Development Committee Meetings & several Technical & Networking sessions were part of the event. Indian wire harness market is growing in steady rate in recent years due to growth of automobile, aerospace, medical & consumer electronics manufacturing facilities. Indian exporters, suppliers & manufacturers of wire and cable processing equipment, tools, materials & technologies to to be invited to be part of 2023 exhibition.

May 18, IPC India Association of Indian Medical Device Industry (AIMED), Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) teamed up to create awareness of importance of medical electronics manufacturing standards. Indian Medical industry demands the highest standards of quality, precision, and reliability when it comes to printed circuit board needs. There is one thing that is an absolute must when it comes to medical equipment: it must work as expected, and it must work correctly every single time it is used. Because of this, medical equipment is built according to some of the strictest and demanding standards in the manufacturing industry. Mr Rajiv Nath, Forum Coordinator, AIMED & Mr. G V Subrahmanyam, Joint Coordinator, EVG, AIMED spoke about challenges & opportunities in Indian medical device manufacturing and highlighted data on export & import. Vivekanand Sahoo (Head- Business Development) AMTZ presented AMTZ initiative on medical manufacturing cluster. Gaurab Majumdar, Executive Director, IPC India talked about IPC activities in India. May 24, Mr. Vishal Gaware of Minda Instruments Ltd was the Winner & Mr. Kisan Sabale of General Industrial Controls Pvt Ltd was the Runner Up for the Maharashtra region semi-final round of IPC skill challenge competition on Hand Soldering. Next semi-final round for Andhra Pradesh & Telangana region will be played at Hyderabad on June 7. Final for Indian electronics manufacturing companies will be organized at Bengaluru on August 4.

IPC India organized Member Networking Event at Pune on May 25 jointly with Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries (MCCIA). The topic of the session was “Enhancing Quality of PCB Assembly Through Standards & Best Practices”. Mr. Narayan Bedarkar Chairman (Electronics Committee), MCCIA gave the welcome address. During the event, Gaurab Majumdar, Executive Director, IPC India gave a brief background about IPC 10 years journey in India. Saurabh K Saxena, Head of Standards Dept, IPC India gave a presentation on Enhancing Quality of PCB Assembly through standards & Best Practices.
